Interclub bowls competitions
Darra Cementco was in the first group of Brisbane clubs to play in this innovative event and it continues to grow each year. In the 2023 season we have 6 teams entered, – Men’s and Women’s team in the Alpha Division, a Men’s team and an Open (mixed) team in the Beta division and 2 Men’s teams in the Gamma division.
Results for 2023
- Alpha Ladies – Winners of section in Brisbane and winners of the finals at the Sunshine Coast playoffs.
- Alpha Men – Second place in section, winner of Brisbane semifinal, 3rd overall at the Sunshine Coast playoffs.
- Beta Open (Mixed) – Winner of Brisbane section, 3rd overall at the Sunshine Coast playoffs.
- Beta Men – Winner of Brisbane section, lost Qtr final
- Gamma Men (White) – 3rd place in section
- Gamma Men (Blue) – Winners of section in Brisbane and winners of Brisbane Qtr final.
Overall a great result for the club and thanks to all the players who represented us.
There are 5 bowls districts in Brisbane area and Darra Cementco is located in the Cunningham District. As such, our members play in a number ofcompetitions organised by the District as well as possibly the major event of the season and certainly the most traditional, District Pennants. This competition commences in July and runs until early September and, once it commences more club specific information will be placed here.
